Restoring a healthy relationship with resting
We need moments and periods of rest in our lives. Our bodies often demand rest, yet we so readily ignore the signs carry and on. We need to invite and allow rest into our lives this winter, so focus on restoring your relationship with rest. It may feel as though you are going against the ‘status quo’ but in reality, you are actively caring for your body, mind and soul in the most fundamental way.
Start by visualising what rest looks like to you. How do you allow rest into your life?
Reflect on how often you allow yourself to rest. Is there a reason why you may not allow yourself to rest as much as you should?
How could you invite more rest into your life? Could it be as simple as allowing a slow morning one day a week, or reducing your workout schedule to allow your body to rest.
How would allowing more rest benefit your life? Would it also benefit others around you as well? It may reduce stress which can to create more harmony in your home and life.
Are there any limiting or unhealthy beliefs that you need to change and let go of, in order for you to build a healthy relationship with rest?
Come back to this after a month or two, to reflect on how allowing rest has positively impacted your life.
